In Visit, as in Vacation, Formation and Equity, I use street life to look at the border between public and private activity; the imprints of people on the natural and built landscape; the street defined by each walker's projection onto it. I look at the personalization of common spaces; expression of societal values through commercial ephemera (like typographical forms); society as well as the individual defined by its objects and particularly its abandoned objects.
I took these photographs in the order presented while walking through the five boroughs of my native city over a few days.
